Achievement Services is a 501(c)3, nonprofit organization developed to provide programs and services to underserved, underprivileged and at-risk populations of children, adolescents and families.  The mission of the organization is to inform, educate and empower children, adolescents and families to achieve self sufficiency via academic, out-of-school, extended learning programs.  Specifically, Achievement Services partners with secondary schools to design and implement academic, extended learning programs in core subjects to increase school performance and achievement. We want children to perceive learning as fun, cool and essential to their existance. For the children we serve, Achievement Services is an exciting and fun place, sparking creativity and a desire to learn.  Our philosophy is to educate in a manner utilizing a nontraditional construct.  We believe in designing our programs to “look different from the typical school day”.  Our program design team specifically researches methods and curriculum that support creating a fun environment for learning, incorporating math, reading and/or science concepts in their everyday lives and experiences.  Achievement Services was founded by Brenda Wade, a social worker with more than fifteen years of dedication in working in educational settings, clinical settings, and governmental settings to address the needs of at-risk populations.  Prior experiences include nonprofit management, professional development trainings for childcare workers and foster parents, independent living skills training for adolescents and young adults, operation of summer learning camps and other educational programs for children, adolescents and families in collaboration with local colleges and universities.  Staff, volunteers and board members include a host of educators, health care professionals, law enforcement officials, corporate executives, business owners, consultants and graduate students.  Recipients of programs and services are referred from schools, social service agencies and other helping entities.
